Collin College ADN 2019

Anyone else applying in 2019?

Wow! Your PSB score and GPAs are impressive. I am taking the PSB again next week. I took A&P1 and Micro last semester. I will finish A&P2 next week. I think you will be okay. Maybe you can go to the Fall 2018 thread and ask the people in there to see if they have any information in your situation. Have you applied any other schools? I also applied for Grayson College.

Thanks! Actually, I have 2 contingency plans lol If I do not get in for Spring 2019 I am going to re-apply for summer 2019 and submit the application with micro complete. My other plan is to take the TEAS this fall and apply for the 2019 Fall BSN program at TWU. I did my other degree at TWU (finance and accounting though) and will have all my prerequisites complete. Either way I am gonna graduate by end of 2020/spring 2021 with my BSN with either of the plans. Collin is just the way to get my RN license quickly. Grayson is too far north for me to consider driving to.

It looks like you have everything mapped out. I have a degree in Criminal Justice and it doesn't translate to anything in Nursing. My plan is to get my ADN first and then the RN-BSN program. I live in Allen so it doesn't take long to drive to Collin College. I also don't mind to drive to Grayson County. I just want to get into a program. Do you know the points system in Collin College?

I took the PSB today but I couldn't find any information on how to convert the score to the points system. Can some one help me out? I have all A's in A&P1, A&P2 and Micro. My PSB score is not as good as I have hoped.

VE:50%

AR: 44%

NE: 85%

AA: 64%

SP: 79%

RC: 91%

INS: 97%

VAI: 75%

I'd like to know how they do the points as well. I did the PSB and happy with my results

I went to the information session and the nursing program recruiter told me that they don't do points system anymore. The selection is based on 3 different GPAs now.

1. They take GPA from your science classes (A&P1, A&P2, and Micro)

2. Your cumulative GPA (Composition I, General Psychology, Life-Span Growth and Development, and an elective class) if you have taken them.

3. Your PSB score.

However, I still don't fully understand how the school determine the PSB score because there are several catagories in the test. I remembered the nursing recruiter said that you need to score at least 40% on each category to be competitive.

Thank you.

My PSB is as follows

VE 90

AR 80

NE 52

AA 85

SP 88

RC 89

INS 83

VAI 88

The pre reqs 3.4

Accumulative 3.5

Thank you.

Your score is impressive. Mine is mediocre.

I applied for the Summer 2018 program, and I was not surprised that I did not get in. I had AP II pending, and my PSB was not good. I am applying for the 2019 Spring term with

Microbiology- A

AP I- A

AP II- A

and 90 and above on all sections of the PSB. Good luck everyone.

I think you did well. They say to be competitive you need to score above 40% in all sessions and you scored above that :).

Thank you for the encouragement :-)

Has anyone heard about collin college losing applications or not attaching transcripts received electronically to the application? I am so concerned with that.
