Where on the website does it show Oct 15th. I have been hearing around October 30th. The last information session stated they received about 350 applications and was surprised that it was less than the 500-600 they seen in the previous few cohorts. Good luck everyone.
I got an email on 9/10 confirming they got my application and that they will send out acceptance/rejection no later than October 15. Maybe that changed! Just going by the email I received.

I was incorrect. It was in the email they sent us after receiving our application. This email was sent from (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) from the nursing department. The statement reads "We anticipate sending the notification no later than the week ending October 15, 2021."

I am applying to TWU for next semester! I work at Dallas children’s hospital as a tech and they prefer BSN and TWU so Collin is kind of a back up for me while I finish my BSN pre reqs before applying to TWU nursing! Good idea to get out of California, very hard there for nursing and new grads LOL esp bay area. Def look into Dallas College as well for an associates degree!
guys, real quick last question. When calculating your points for the prerequisites did you include Microbiology (if you completed it) in your GPA criteria points. Like I know you get 1 point for completing both A&P's and Micro, but do you include Microbiology in your criteria points for GPA if completed. I was looking over the list and it states, "Enter the number of semester credit hours for each completed prerequisite, regardless of whether the course was taken at Collin or elsewhere. Do not enter any numbers for a course not yet taken or completed, as that will result in an incorrect GPA." So do I enter points for all 3 prerequisites or just A&P 1 and 2 even though I completed all 3?
I applied to TWU as well. It is very difficult to get in unless you have a previous bachelors or took your pre requisites there. They added essays to this years applications, so I’m hopeful for that. But if you plan on applying there without either of the two things I mentioned you’ll pretty much need a 4.0 and a 90+ on your TEAS

Yes! That’s honestly most nursing programs, needing a 4.0 and 90+ on TEAS. Same with Collin as well esp when there’s over 600 applicants (looks like for this period, it was much less). And yeah they take preference for a bachelors and pre reqs taken at TWU but not all - still worth it to apply. I work with many nurses that graduated from TWU w no prior bachelors or had taken their lower divisions classes there. I am finishing my last 3 at TWU now though so I can show I did some pre reqs there haha

So yes, you get 1 point if you completed all 3 of the pre reqs - not 1 point per class.
GPA wise, it is based on all 3! If Micro is still in progress, the GPA is just based on the A&Ps.
and points wise as it says on the application, it’s only for the A&Ps so 5 points for an A, 4 for a B, etc!
hope that helps:)

Yeah, but prior to this semester they accepted strictly on that admission score. As a transfer student the highest score I think you can get is around 55-56 and the lowest score they usually take is around 53-54. Those additional 8 or 16 points (based on prior bachelors or pre reqs taking at TWU) make a world of a difference. It’s worth it to apply but I recommend really studying for your TEAS to make sure you do your absolute best.
I applied to Collin with an 85.3% on my TEAS and my admission score looks far more promising than my TWU score.

Absolutely! You def cut it close as a transfer. I also saw they want an essay and take into account if you have a CNA or clinical experience I think?? Regadless an essay makes it more personal based on just numbers so I’m rooting for you! I’ll be applying in feb. 85 is great! I got an 85 first time and 93 the second time bc I was so scared LOL. We all got this though!

Yes it does, that's what I thought, but just wanted to make sure! Thank you!

That is an awesome score! I haven’t taken any classes in 2 years and studied every day for multiple hours for over a week when I took it again in August (hadn’t taken it since 2019, LOL) Not my best but I lost a lot of the information after the 2 years. I’m hoping they take more into account the essays, I feel great about those and have a 4.0 so I’m hopeful, but still realistic! We got this! I’m sure you’ll get in and do great friend!

I've heard great things about TWU's nursing program. Great idea to apply there. Maybe also take a look at Dallas College El Centro location. Their nursing program is great too, but the only difference is they take the HESI A2 exam rather than the TEAS. S
