Collin College ADN program Fall 2022

Published

Hi, I know it’s kinda early but I wanted to start a string for those applying to Collin college ADN/RN program in the Fall of 2022. I just want to know where I fall points wise and competitive wise to others who are also applying this coming Fall.

Didn’t they say we are going to get an email from Identigo soon?

How does the registration work? Like how do we sign up and get started with payments? Sorry I’m just a little over whelmed ?

Hey Norma! There will be an email that will give you a specific registration code for each class to register with using the cougarweb registration tool. Once you register you can then pay for the classes yourself or if you already have financial aid allocated towards collin college it will automatically be paid for. Let me know if you have any other questions!

That’s correct! You’ll get an email from identigo asking you to schedule your fingerprinting appointment. Just don’t put it off! It’s a lengthy process.

Thank you Nathan! Ugh I’m just so nervous imma mess something up. I’ve moved around Texas all my life so I’m kinda having trouble with getting all my immunization info together do you have any advice?

You will have to do your blood titer regardless of records (blood titer will show how many antibodies you have for each required immunity) After your blood titer results are received it will show you if you have all required levels of immunity or if you need a booster vaccine for a certain category. Your current vaccine records do not play a role. All you need is your blood titer results and proof of a booster vaccine if your levels of antibodies are too low for a specific category.

For example I had to get a booster for my TDAP because my tetorifice titer was low on my blood titer results.

Thanks for your replies NathanThompson1. Now I’m a bit worried; if your titers come out low for example for Hepatitis, you’ll have to get all 3 shots again. There won’t be enough time for that before the semester starts. Will they allow someone to start classes before completing all shots?

No need to worry! Just as long as you start your series of shots you’re good to go! You don’t have to have the full series completed before class begins as some series can take 6 months to finish.

Tell the place you’re getting it done at that you’re a college student and you may get a discount!

Nothing else besides the initial emails yet.

Has anyone completed the CPR certification yet? If so, where did you go, and is it the BLS course?

I completed it. It is the BLS course. It takes about 2 hours total. There’s a couple videos, one PowerPoint, practice on dummies, and then it’s a 25 question test. I used the BLS course office in Plano.. just make sure it’s actually an American Heart BLS accredited course. ONLINE COURSES ARE NOT ACCREDITED. Beware of the online courses! There were a couple people that fell for that scam and had to take a legit in person class after the fact.

this is the site I used to schedule my appointment close to me.. they aren’t the only option!! But it’s the one I used https://www.texasheartcprtraining.com/
