College of New Rochelle Second Degree Nursing Class of 2019

Published

Hello! Just wanted to start this thread to see if anyone else has applied to CNR's ABSN program for the Spring or Summer 2018 start!

There is no expiration year for the pre-reqs. Developmental psych is needed. I took gen psych as a clep and then took developmental pysch as a class. I think recommendation letters play a huge part. I had three from doctors and then one from a professor. When taking your pre-reqs I would recommend getting close with your professors for a possible letter. I submitted a CV on all the volunteer and HCE I did. Write a good admission essay as that is part of your platform to shine because there is no admission interview.

Thank you for your response! Also are the TEAS required? I am hoping to complete all my prerequisites before Summer of next year but I am also working full time. I am planning on taking developmental psych as a online class while taking chemistry and lab on saturdays. Should be interesting..

The teas are not required. Good Luck!

Does anyone know why it's required to bring a laptop to orientation???

i believe they are installing software on it that will allow to take their tests. from what i heard exams are issued via computer not regular pen and paper

Am i the only one having trouble figuring out how to sign up for an orientation date to make my schedule, their website is so confusing

Hello,

The prerequisite of "General Psychology" does it specifically have to be a general psych class or can it be an 101 or above class? I have a psych degree under my belt but the general psych class I got a C in. Every other psych class after that, I got a A or B.

I am not sure about the level of the class. I know the requirement is general psych and maybe you should look into taking a CLEP exam as a cheaper alternative. I did gen psych with CLEP and took the class for developmental psych.

I will also be starting in the Fall of 2018 and was told I had to take Organic Chemistry as my Chemistry from the CC did not fulfill the CNR requirement. The issue is that I spoke with someone else starting in the Fall 2018 and this person did not have to take Organic Chemistry. Has anyone been told they need Organic Chem? I took pre-reqs at WCC.

I'm not sure about organic chemistry. I think it just has to be a 4 credit chemistry class with a lab. I have to retake a chemisty class over the summer as well for fall start because the chem class I took was only 3 credits:/

What type of Chemistry--General, Inorganic, or Organic? And was it approved by CNR?
