College of New Rochelle CNR Summer 2019

Published

Hi all! I wanted to start this thread for those who have applied/been accepted to The College of New Rochelles accelerated nursing program starting in the Summer of 2019. I thought it would be helpful to meet other applicants and give us all some insight!

So I just found out that cnr will be closing down. This is very sad especially since some of us have made sacrifices just to be accepted here. What are everyone’s thoughts

They are signing an agreement with Mercy College. We have been told to continue preparations for the summer semester as normal, especially if you have paid your deposit already, as you are considered to be enrolled. We have created a Facebook page as well where we have been keeping in contact with other students for this cohort under the group name CNR summer 2019.

So like many of you I applied to College Of New Rochelle but was informed today by admissions that the school might be closing at the end of this year and they are no longer making admissions decisions until further notice.

Such a bummer. I really hope they stay open.

as a second-semester nursing student here, i can tell you that they are definitely not staying open past summer 19. I attended a meeting on Tuesday between mercy president and CNR they are trying to make this transition as seamless as possible, in terms of no one losing credits or anything. Unfortunately, if you haven't started here yet i suggest looking for other schools

Did they mention that Mercy would be willing to accept the Summer 2019 cohort as well or not at all? I have already been accepted and paid my deposit so if I am able to continue with this transition I would like to.

So I am also in the 2019 summer cohort and have spoke to ---------------- today. He said the chances of them taking this cohort is very likely. We have a Facebook group that all of us have been communicating on. Also Concordia is willing to take students as well. Look for us in the group and we’ll fill you in

Hi all!! So I just found out i was accepted into in the the traditional nursing program starting this fall.

I'm not really sure what's to come bc of the merge. Does anyone have any details in what's happening?

When did you apply and did you finish all your prerequisites? Congrats by the way!

Thank you!!! I applied back in January for the traditional bsn at cnr...but cnt is closing so they transferred my application over to mercy college so I'll be attending mercy in the fall

Yes, I've finished all of my prerequisites.

I did not, I had two classes, nutrition and dvlp physc still in progress at the time when they accepted me but this is was a year ago so I'm not sure it things changed

Nice! I applied for their fall 19 absn program back in January so I’m still hoping for a miracle even though Mercy does not have a absn program but Brian from Cnr said that Mercy is working on it. This was a couple months ago though so I don’t if that’s still the case. I’m just finishing up developmental psych and Statistics so hopefully I’ll hear something soon.

Mercy should be getting at absn, since that's where they assured us current students would be able to continue our program of study uninterrupted
