College of New Rochelle CNR Summer 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi all! I wanted to start this thread for those who have applied/been accepted to The College of New Rochelles accelerated nursing program starting in the Summer of 2019. I thought it would be helpful to meet other applicants and give us all some insight!

So we have one day left for this supposed decision.... anyone else feel duped?

Someone spoke with ------------ from CNR and ------------- from Mercy yesterday and both said they are still very confident it will begin this summer but it’s unlikely they will hear an answer by tomorrow.

Yea --------------- said in a couple of weeks. They never said May 1st they just said “in May” so it’ll definitely happen during that month.

Got news today that the programs accreditation went through! They are planning on a summer start still and we should be getting a next steps email within the next few days.

I was just accepted for the fall 2019 cohort. Does anyone have any insight about the program that started in the summer? I am a little apprehensive as it is a brand new program. thank you!

Hi congrats! Administration wise, things are a bit messy, especially that the summer has been the first semester of Mercy students. Like any nursing program though getting compliant medically was a big issue for a lot of students so definitely start early. I think come fall things will (hopefully) be much smoother than they are for us this summer. Also as the summer semester is so condensed our course load may be more hectic than in the fall. The program and course materials itself will remain mostly the same as CNRs, as most of the nursing faculty have been hired for the next year, so many of them have taught the material for years which is helpful. So far the material is difficult, but it's doable. Good luck in whatever you choose!

I meant to ask you if classes for the ABSN program are at the 1200 Waters place location in the Bronx?

Currently we’re only at CNRs main campus. I’m not sure about the fall because Mercy told us they leased all of New Rochelle’s campuses so I’m assuming classes will be offered at any of their campuses but I’m not sure. I know we will not be at the Mercy Dobbs Ferry campus though.
