Thread for COM applicants.
They had to extend the date a month because so few people applied. So those who applied have a decent shot of getting in!
Number 43 in the lottery! Feeling good about my chances but not counting my blessings quite yet...
I was under the impression that they extended the due date for applications because they changed the application process. That's what one of the counselors told me.
That seems strange that they would only take 32 people. Hope that's really not the case.
They switched this year to an online application. And I believe the application period was almost a month longer this year than last year. But I think that had to do with the fact that it wasn't widely known that they were changing their application process. I had to have my prerequisites approved by enrollment services and after approval, send that paperwork to the nursing department with my transcripts. And then I filled out the online part.
I'm not really sure what to do. I got accepted at City College of San Francisco. COM is definitely my first choice but I know we won't know anything for sure until after everyone takes the TEAS in May. The problem is CCSF is moving along so quickly. Apparently they are starting to register accepted students for classes today. They are also taking measurements for uniforms on May 11th. They haven't even had everyone who was conditionally accepted take the TEAS yet. Being #43 in the lottery at COM and having passed the TEAS already, I feel that my chances are pretty good but obviously not set in stone. Part of me wants to just give up my spot at CCSF so someone on their waitlist can have it and then hold out for COM. But I'm also concerned that I won't have a backup if I don't get accepted to COM. Just from reading threads on here from previous years, it sounds like they get well over #43 in the lottery before all the spots are filled but still...
What would you do?
Hi all! #35 here. I was feeling very confident about my number because on their website it says they take 36 students, but after reading the comment about Angela possibly saying they're taking 32 I'm sort of nervous! I've already taken the TEAS, passed it, and submitted the results to Angela. I'm hoping the time waiting for the final answers flies by..I've literally had palpitations this entire time from submitting apps to waiting for responses
Best of luck everyone!!
