College of the Mainland ADN Program

Published

Helpppp! I missed the spring 2016 ADN deadlines for College of the Mainland so I'm planning on applying to the ADN program for Fall 2016. Is there anyone else considering to apply for the fall admissions too? Also, can anyone tell me what courses/things I can do to get ahead since I will have a whole semester to do so? Any information on the program will help. Thanks!

I feel the only reason they are pushing people to do the lvn instead of adn is to make more money. No offense to the people pursuing an lvn, but why even waste your time when adn is 1 more semester. Even as adn's the job hunt is still going to be tough. Bsn is the new standard. So if you have all of your classes for adn. Don't sell yourself short. Reapply

You have to have 3 injections + the Titer prior to admission, so that has to be turned in before you actually start classes. This usually takes 7 months to finish. So if you applied for the Spring, that must be turned into the office by the first day of class in January.

( When I was enrolled as long as you had them before clinical it was okay, that's why you actually need them, they may have changed that though)

Some locations are:

Galveston County Health District

409-938-7221

Redi Clinic at H.E.B. (I got a titer for my HEP B here, more expensive but I didn't have time to wait)

UTMB Student health

(409) 747-9508 (very reasonable)

It's two more semester, & will I know for me it won't be hard for me to find a job, I'm already working in a healthcare place.

Its not an awful idea if one were on a time limit or something of the sort. I just feel like the school would benefit alot financially. Pinning fees twice, 2 extra semesters of tuition, etc. Those all add up for them. But if you could get a job right away they that's great also.

I have worked with Doctors & nurses for a while now.. they all say the same thing. Go for your RN!! I've worked as a CNA for 6 yrs and as a Medical assistant for 3. I have my reasons why I chose that route and I don't regret it one bit. The important thing is that God has given me the opportunity to move forward and I hope to become an RN soon♡ I wish you all the BEST!! I know this means so much to you all as well.. we must not lose hope ;) keeping us all in my prayers.. GoodNite♡

Last semester we got acceptance emails on the last Friday of March, hopefully we're lucky enough to get them this Friday. Good luck everyone

How long was that? Was it in the 3 week time frame or longer?

Oh man.. That's so long. I was really hoping by 2weeks they would have decided. I know if I don't hear anything tomorrow then they'll probably be like last semester and it'll be next Fri.
