Hi, I’m applying for the fall at com and wanted to start a post for the upcoming applicants who are also applying. I been following all the other posts from semesters before which makes me pretty nervous about my chances of getting in. Good luck to everyone!
This is the pdf the nursing department sent me yesterday on where exactly to place them.

Okay thank you!! That helped a lot
Hello everyone, I got accepted into the ADN program for Spring 2020. I wanted to know what you all think about the program so far and the pro's and cons you may have about it. I was also curious to know if any of you were commuting back and forth for school and if so how far. lol
Thanks in advance everyone!

I’m in the program and the teaching is good, you learn a bunch from them but one thing I will say is starting with the Fall 2019 they changed the curriculum and so they’re kind of adjusting certain things as we go so there’s a lot of uncertainty but I feel like they’ll address all the kinks. And by new curriculum I mean they put like 3 classes into one and called it foundations (clinical, practice and pharmacology). I live in Alvin and I drive to COM and it’s like a 25-30 min drive but it’s not too bad. But we just started clinicals and they’re a lot of fun, definitely thought they were gonna be intimidating but the nurses are very helpful, you just have to want to learn and be there.

Nice! Good to know and Thanks for the information. What are some of the clinical areas/hospitals that you all go to?

Mainland Hospital (I’m there), Clear lake regional, UTMB. Mainland is pretty good way better than what I thought. Tuesday’s or Saturday’s. 6:30am-2:30pm or 3:00pm-11:00pm (Saturday’s only)

Wow so those are the only days you go to clinicals? Tuesday and Saturday?
Hey guys, I am currently in the LVN to RN transition program at San Jac but I'm on here cause my sister is applying for Fall 2020 ADN and I'm just wondering what y'alls GPA & HESI scores looked like to the people who were accepted? And does COM only look at the pre reqs GPA? Thanks for y'alls help! Hope school has been going great ?

Hii! My hesi overall score was a 90 and my pre req gpa was a 3.67 and I believe the majority of everyone else for our group was around the same. I’d definitely recommend making As in the 3 sciences or atleast 2 As and a B. The good news is I’ve been told Fall semester generally has less applicants! Good luck to y'all both! ?
