Has anyone applied to College of the Desert for the Fall 2015 / Spring 2015 application period for the ADN program? I'm curious as College of the Desert told me they had more than 400 applicants, and they didn't know how smoothly the selection process is going to go; now that there is only one application period per year, the TEAS should be taken before applying, and the implementation of the multicriteria screening and ranking process. I have applied 6 times - hopefully I get in this time :-)
As if the waiting wasn't difficult enough... COD just redacted their previous update of informing us that we'll get notification "late May", to this:
[h=2]CURRENT ITEMS OF INTEREST.[/h][h=2]5-15-2014: Information concerning the Fall and Spring RN class groups for next year have not been sent yet. Evaluators are still reviewing applications. We anticipate emails/letters to be sent in June.[/h]
ugh... the waiting commences
I guess they sent emails to everyone to get into Pasadena. I didn't receive an email, but that's ok. So this is the second school that had random selection that I missed. I better not go to Vegas.LOL. I crapped out!!
I'm so sorry to hear that! Awful! I know the sinking feeling of that kind of rejection after putting in so much work for a passionate goal. All I can say is, keep your head up and keep your eyes on the prize! Since we have the same points maybe we'll start COD together! No Vegas for me either!
It's ok, I am not bummed out!1 I am gonna be a better nurse because of it. Don't get me singing"Eye of the tiger." OOH I am feeling like Rocky!! Watch out now!!
LOVE the positive attitude! I'm seeing Rocky run those famous stairs! You've got it- scrubs and all! One day (far into the future) we'll be looking back laughing and patting ourselves on the back for sticking with it.

Thank you so much, Mum! I can't tell you how "trying" this pursuit of nursing has been, your prayers are definitely welcomed! Actually the reason I posted on this site initially, was to connect with individuals who are also on this journey. Mission accomplished, even though there doesn't seem to be many COD nursing hopefuls out there. Hence the name I chose for this site "journey2nursing" - it has been a true journey, I just hope I can take the next step SOON! Keep pushing forward though, if you want it enough I know it'll happen :-) I'll keep this thread updated with any news I have!
