Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello

i just applied to COC RN program for spring 2017 and am seeing if anyone else has also! I have also applied for moorpark and thinking about applying to Glendale as well. Should I be studying for the TEAS? I don't have a high GPA in bio (all Cs...) do I even have a chance of being accepted??

thanks for any replies

I don't think we would have to go to the advisement because we aren't new students. Might warrant a quick call for reassurance though. I have all my titers, all were good except hep. B so I have to start the series again, and a current TDAP and flu vaccination. That is reassuring because I got my vaccine record from my high school and it was a piece of paper with the dates written in and I have no clue if it wasn't written by a dr., nurse, maybe my mom so not very official like those of today lol!

Does anyone know if we absolutely need the drug therapy book with access and atlas or can we only buy the book? I bought all previous edition books. Yikes! I hope there is not that much difference. Is anyone buying the recommended books too or just sticking to the required ones?

Thanx, they said it might affect my registration date.

If you don't attend the advisement class? Have you gone to COC before? When I updated my application the lady in A&R never mentioned anything about an advisement class. This is the first I have heard of it.

Well, she told me a could skip it but it might affect my registration date. Do u think it'll be okay? I mean, I am not a new student only to COC.

Who is she? Are you speaking to the nursing office or A&R? Did they email you about it? Maybe someone else on here knows because I have never heard anything about it.

Also about the books...I am buying all the required and only the calulate with confidence (that becomes required in 3rd semester when I looked at the future classes) and the care plan one. I can't recall the name of it. I am skipping the medical dictionary because I figured you can always look online and the study guides. I was worried about codes and cds etc, but if you buy a book used or rent one you probably aren't going to get those things either.

She, from the admissions office. Didn't get her name. I have never been to COC before. I don't know. Do you know if when need the access codes or cds for any of the books?

Hi all! I have my counseling appointment tomorrow. I made an appointment just to be sure coz Im new to COC. Any advice as to what else to discuss? Do we need to have the Kaplan paid before submitting all our stuff? And include like a receipt?

hi! Where did you find the list of books we might use?í ½í¸Š

Does anyone know if we have to go the 'new student advisement'? It just seems like such a drag but I wouldn't want that to jeopardize my class registration.

Also, I submitted all my requirements and did not ask for old vaccination records from when I was a kid. The vaccines that I had were relatively recent. Just FYI for those who were worried about child vaccination records.

Hi launley! Going to see a counselor tomorrow so will definitely ask! Did they say titers are fine? :)

Hi, yes! I did not know we needed the receipt but she (Juli) told me I could e-mail it to her. So, just bring it with you to get it done with. My titers were good.
