Anyone applying to COC Nursing program Fall 2016?
Hey guys! I applied to the program for the fall as well. I just took my TEAS and scored an 88.7%. Can anyone tell me if thats good, or at least enough to get me a spot? Thank you :)
I just graduated from COC in Dec 2015 and successfully obtained my RN license in Feb 2016. I can say that your score is excellent!! and think you have a great chance of getting in. By contrast I only got an 82.something.
PS everyone, feel free to ask me any questions. I'll do my best to answer them.
I got the email to sit for the TEAS! I was wondering what the class schedule is like? I have three little kiddos at home and I am very nervous about how to mesh their school and lives with my school and life. I have already started to talk to them so they know what might be happening. My oldest is 7, so she gets it, but my boys (6 and 3) are clueless lol. Do you get a say in scheduling or is it all assigned to you?
Hi Erick!I hope to start this fall if I get accepted! :) Anway I know it's going to be tough career....and I was hoping you would share some pointers about how to deal with the workload? were there any resources that you used that helped?
PS Congratulations on becoming a RN :)
I didn't use any specific resources, I just followed what the professors said and focused on the material they seemed to emphasize. I worked all through nursing school and even had 2 jobs at one point. It's all doable you just need to have good time management!

Hi. Unless they've changed things, and I'm pretty sure they haven't, you don't get a say in your schedule. They make exceptions for religious purposes etc, and sometimes you can switch clinical days if another student is willing to switch with you.
But as far as scheduling; you will be at school or at the hospital 4-5 days a week for the whole first semester; this MAY include weekends once you start clinical. The following semesters are only 2-3 days.
