College of the Canyons (COC) ADN Spring 2024

Published

Hey Everyone! Just thought I'd make a thread for COC's Spring 2024 ADN applicants. This is my third time applying and applications open up tomorrow, August 1. I will also be applying to other schools like Pasadena City College, Pierce College, Antelope Valley College, and Butte College. I wish everyone the best of luck!

Thank you!  No because I'm local to coc and need to be minutes from my kiddos just in case.. first two rejections were due to them claiming I didn't send all transcripts ( I did and proved it) told to reapply, applied with over 3.5 GPA , 89% TEAS, bachelors and masters degree and was still rejected.

oh my gosh! I am so sorry. Hopefully, you get in this round. Unfortunately, College of the Canyons is one of the harder schools to get into. ? This would also be my third attempt.

Has anyone received a status update yet?

Has anyone heard anything?

Nope. I've been checking my COC email everyday and nothing. Hopefully they do tell us by the 13th ?

Nothing for me yet either.

Hey guys, I've been following this thread for a little bit and just wanted to pop in to say that COC just sent an update email!

This is the email I received:

Dear COC RN Program Applicant:

We have received your TEAS test results and complete application for the College of the Canyons RN Program and have determined that you are eligible for selection of the Spring 2024 class.  The selection is scheduled for late October and you will receive an email by November 1, 2023 (via your COC student email) at that time as to whether or not you were selected.

HOLD THE DATE:  IF you are selected, you must attend a mandatory orientation tentatively scheduled for Thursday, November 16, 2023.

Thank you for your continued interest in our RN program.

I got an email saying I got invited to take my TEAS or if I took it already I need to send it by Thursday October 19. It's my first time applying so this probably for first timers.

I work at Simi valley hospital and COC students do their clinical there and someone of them had to do a TEAS remediation and had no clinical experience from work and so on and got in their first time applying!  I asked them what their stats were out of curiosity! I feel like it depends on luck!??

Oh wow! I think it also depends on how many they accept per cohort, some are 40-50 students and sometimes they only take 20, so really depends. I applied with a bachelors and masters, high GPA and TEAS and they still denied me last time, hopefully this time around a larger cohort
