They will definitely talk more about it at your orientation & give you the schedule. But it's for all semesters & they have different classes for whichever semester you're in. Each class is about 2 hours long, and they start in the end of July and go throughout August. Some classes they do for the 1st semesters include dosage calculations, nursing care plans, intro to sim lab, test taking skills, oxygenation/ABGs, etc. You can choose to go to whichever classes you want and they're 100% optional, but def beneficial if you want to ease your way into 1st semester ?

Yes! This nursing program is extremely good and prepares their students well. It's definitely not easy - but it is manageable! A lot of it comes down to time management, getting yourself organized, and staying motivated. There are also intersession classes that they hold over the Summer which will help introduce you to some of the more difficult topics. Feel free to message me anytime ?

Hey! I was an alternate for Spring 2024 and got a call with my acceptance a week later or so. Once the deadline passes for students to accept/decline, that's when they'll know how many spots are available. A lot of my current classmates were also on the waitlist. So definitely don't give up hope! I'm now going into my 4th and final semester at LAHC in the fall ?

I'm a current 1st semester student & the expectations are very high, but they make you so much more prepared than other schools. 1st semester clinical rotation sites are Kaiser South Bay & Providence San Pedro. For the rest of the semesters it's a mix of Torrance Memorial, Providence, and Harbor UCLA. since you have all Summer to prepare, you'll be in good shape! you can read the material in advance to get ahead.

so you'll be in class 3-4 days per week for the first semester. for the first 8 weeks, you're in lecture Monday & Wednesday and you'll have lab either Tuesday and Wednesday or Thursday and Friday. then, for the second 8 weeks, you'll start clinical and be in lecture Monday and Wednesday still and you'll have a 12-hour clinical on either Tuesday or Friday (instead of going to lab 2 days a week)

congrats to those who got in & don't be discouraged if you didn't! it's very competitive. I was initially selected as an alternate for Spring 2024 & they called me a few weeks after and offered me a spot - so stay positive! im now a first semester student at LAHC and I love it!! let me know if you guys have any questions ?

harbor is ranked the 3rd best ADN program in CA, but it also depends what you're looking for. I think distance is an important factor for a lot of people. you def don't want to spend hours driving when you could be using that time to study. for harbor, the clinical sites include little company of mary, kaiser, harbor UCLA, and torrance memorial. I'm not sure about southwest.

not yet. I think I remember him saying it too, but he didn't give a timeframe. I'm sure it'll take a little bit of time for them to contact everyone/finalize everything. don't stress - we are in! just make sure to do your background check before the orientation.
