I was wondering if you guys think I can pull this off. OK. I know I'm gonna bomb my first test. One is I haven't gotten my Algebra book yet and two I just finished my final exam in A&P II last week I've been only concentrating on that final because it would have made or broke me. I came out with a B in the class. My test is tomorrow and there's no way I'm gonna be able to cover all the material in time. My two yr. old daughter is here with me and wants all of my undivided attention. The only good thing is my teacher drops the lowest test grade. This by far will be my lowest because I will have time now to concentrated on the subject and get help from tutors if needed. I have a friend who's letting me borrow her algebra book until mine arrives. Do you think I can still successfully come out of the class with an A or B if I stay on top of everything from here on out considering he's dropping the lowest test grade?

Yes, only if this is your lowest test grade and it gets dropped and you average an A or B on all of the remainder if your test grades. Depending on how many tests you have you may be able to foul up another one with a C or something. I would still stay up as late as possible and try to learn as much as possible before tomorrow though.

Sure, you could still do good. After your daughter goes to bed, go to a site like algebrahelp.com and look up what you were doing in class, go through the examples and explanations and do a bunch of practice questions. Do the same before your test tomorrow. As long as the test isnt on something youve never seen/done before, I think you'll at least pass....just carve out the time to focus!
Good luck!

It's absolutely possible, but be diligent. If you're like me, Algebra does not come naturally. If I get the slightest bit behind, I get panicky. Plus, Algebra is one of those classes that really builds on itself. You need to have the beginning stuff down before you can advance. Don't fool yourself thinking you can drop this test score and not have to learn the material. If you do that, you run a pretty big chance of not having the foundation to pass the future tests.
Words from experiance.

Have you taken any Algebra? You might want to just try the test. It will give you an idea of what is going on in the class and what you need to know. Sometimes the first test is mainly a review of basic math facts. That way, you can still take the first test, but drop it if you do poorly. One thing about Algebra, you'll have to make sure you know the stuff in this chapter before moving on to the next. Everything builds on what was before.
Thanks you guys, I have 5 test total in this class.
