College algebra - OMG!

I just need college algebra and capstone to be completed. I started algebra on the 15th, and so I thought! The class started last Thursday and tried to play catch up with this online 6 week course, haha!! Was I wrong, each homework assignment takes about 4-5 hours per and there are 10 due before taking a test tomorrow, I finished 2. I just dropped the class and then signed up for the fall semester. I wanted to be done in September, but now it looks like December! This is very dissapointing to me :( Anyone have any tips on passing algebra?

I CLEPed out of Algebra, but I am good at math. I took Calculus in high school (the highest offered) and I just got a study guide book & took it. No problem for me, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're already having problems in an actual course.

I know someone who needed College Algebra for their degree (not nursing or math related) and tried several times to pass without luck (even with an algebra teacher as a private tutor!). Finally, they paid someone $500 to take it online for them. Right or wrong lol....it worked though :)

I'm not sure if my friend is good in math or not, but she is very smart, a great nurse, and if she feels like she can do it, then that must mean she isn't at all intimidated by the thought of reviewing Algebra on her own so she is prepared to pass the test. Thank you for the information.

Doesn't Uta only send out the bsn diploma so many times a year? So, if I do algebra for 12 weeks and get done in December, I may not get my diploma in December meriwhen? Yes, my problem was the timing and going into the class late in a crammed summer class. I start again August 26th for the whole semester, online, through a jr college. Lucky me, 12 weeks of algebra, something that I have not used at all in my 15 year nursing career!

I'm not sure how UTA works, but in most colleges your transcript should be available immediately (well, within a week or two) after you finish your last class. As long as it states that you have had a degree conferred on it, you can use that to make employers happy.

I have a friend who is considering paying someone on line as well. Its tempting Im sure, but told her to be cautious.
