Colds and ATB

Published

OK first let me start of by saying, I don't want anyone to have to look information up if you don't want to. I just need a general answer because the answers online have not sufficed. With that said please don't be rude or snarky on my post I'm only trying to ask a questions so please don't start a war on here. Why is it that ATB's aren't used in the common cold. All I can find on the internet is that the cold is a virus and thats why. Why aren't ATB used with viruses? Again, please be nice we are all in this together and this is just a general question.

"THAT I find a bit rude and presumptuous.......:uhoh3:......maybe its just me but as an LPN who learned this (antibiotics no good for viral infections) in LPN school 26 years ago I take exception to that remark.......maybe I just need a nap....."

If you all are taking such offense at such a simple question that had no inflection one way or the other, then I'm guessing you do need lots of naps.

"Lets [sic] not beat up anyone for asking a question,"

OP's name includes "LPN." I was curious as to whether she was or was not an LPN. That's all.

Good grief. It's waay too easy to start a fire in some posters' minds.

Yes i am an lpn. Idk why i post on here because most of the time people are just plain rude. I try and look answers up myself and yes i look for more logical explanations. Ive been a nurse for over a year but when you work certain areas such as hospice where most of my experience is you kind of forget some things you learned in school. Excuse me for asking questions because everytime i get rude responses.

The OP's username includes the letters LPN after their name. I think that's why the question was asked, not so much JUST to be snarky....
