Before making such an expensive investment, I would make sure you're going to qualify for renewal if you plan to keep the certification. In order to recertify, you will need 500 hours in the perioperative area. In addition to seeing what the initial requirements are, I strongly advise looking at recertification requirements in depth as well.

I am just looking for some advice... I've worked in the OR for 2 years and I am transferring to a step down unit but staying per diem in the OR. Should I sign up to take the CNOR exam? Or is it not worth it since I'm not there full time?
