CNOR book advice

What prep book do you recommend for a new OR nurse looking to study for the CNOR exam? Thank you!

I'd get a copy of the AORN guidelines. Your facility probably has one you can borrow.

I purchased a practice exam through CCI and saw the areas I was deficient in. Then I reviewed those sections of the guidlines. Also picked up a box of their flash cards and went through each question once. That was enough for me.

Good luck!

I really recommend the (slightly overpriced) CNOR Exam Secrets Study Guide: CNOR Test Review for the CNOR Exam.

CCI has a set of CNOR flashcards. Worth buying or buying the app version.

Other than that - checking out a copy of AORN's Guidelines and/or Alexander's Care of the Patient in Surgery is a good place to get good reliable info.

Review test taking strategies too. And remember that just because you practice one way does not mean that is best practice. It's just like the NCLEX - they are asking for the "Ideal" or "Perfect" world answer.

I loved the CNOR pocket prep app, their rationale is very detailed.
