CNO List of Accredited Colleges for RPN Programs

Hi All,

Having a hard time deciding which college to go to in Ontario to become an RPN? This link lets you know which schools have received category 1 accreditation from the College of Nurses of Ontario and which ones got category 2 or were not approved. There is also a list of approved RN and NP programs as well. Might make the decision a bit easier! :)

I just looked at this and can't believe gbc got downgraded. Anyone have any ideas why? I noticed all the colleges in the GTA now have conditions....seems mysterious since gbc was given five year approval last year!

They still have 5 year accreditation, it is with conditions though and that would have to do with the curriculum somehow not meeting the entry to practice competencies. You could possibly get more information from the school.

Will do! Might have something to do with changes the CNO made in Jan. this year regarding dispensing rules? If I find anything out will post :)

I have no idea, I was really surprised when I went on the cno website after reading this thread. I talked about this with one of my classmates and we're planning to ask the program coordinator on monday if he/she is on campus or email them. I'll let you know on Monday.

Yeah it might be just some curriculum changes and I think if we ask they will tell us what those conditions are.

I did see yesterday that they have a new paragraph under the PN program's description regarding the approval. Still I'd like to know more and I didn't get an email back. AshuM any luck?
