CNA's salary and benifits in Memphis,TN

Published

Hi everyone,

I was wondering how was the salary and benifits for new unexperienced CNA. I'm a 21yr old male nursing student at the current time. I wanted to get some background as a CNA until I start my externship as a RN. So what should I take as a salary in a hospital or nursing home facility? Would it hard for me to have a pay rate at 8.50/hr being that I would be unexperienced? Can anyone tell me, what are the best places to work as a CNA in Memphis? What is the best shifts to work? Thanks everyone for helping me with my concerns!

I don't work as a CNA in Memphis, but I think you can get 8.50 at some places. I worked as a CNA in Murfreesboro, TN and made at the least 8.00, but Memphis is a lot bigger and will probably pay more.

I go to Uof M, how about you?

How far are you in the program? Have you considered an intern position? That will pay much more than a CNA.

Hi all.

I currently live in NC and have worked for a VA here for 15 months. It looks like we may be PCS-ing to Fort Campbell, KY. Anyone able to provide info on the post housing situation and nearest VA hospitals, in case I need to transfer? Would greatly appreciate any assistance/info. Love and God bless all.

I live in Nebraska. At Clarkson hospital, the minimum for a CNA right out of the training class is $10.48 per hour.
