*Cna's In Fl ..What's the going Pay rate??

Published

Hello, So I was recently speaking with a cna that has been working for a nursing home for about a yr here in Fort Myers fl. she told me that she was only making $8.64 a hr. Is that the normal pay rate for a cna here in fl? or does it vary on the city.

Im hoping that is not the pay everywhere in fl because that is very discouraging and I couldn't possibly know how I can survive with such low pay.

I am not a CNA but this is what I have seen in my local Florida area. Most CNA jobs offer $8.50 an hour.

The highest wage I have seen offered is $9.50 an hour.

You will find that pay rates for ALL healthcare workers are pitiful in FL, in comparison to other states.

Florida has terrible wages for all. Not just for CNA's but for LPN's and RN's too. You are also treated like @#&*^

from your employer too.

Wow that's really ridiculous because I was looking to get my cna but that is truly a turn off with the pay. I dunno how I can be able to survive off of the amount that. How are people surviving?

Are these hospital or LTC wages? I can't believe how low they can get!!

Yes, I heard from my best friend (nursing buddy) who lives in Florida that his wages and the wages of CNAs are very low compared to other places, but he insisted that this was offset by a lower cost of living. He lives in the West Palm Beach area.

Our facility starts at $8.75, with a .30 - .50 raise after 90 days.

It isn't that cheap to live in FL anymore and especially in the WPB area.

Not to mention the fact that many facilities in the WPB area are the devil's armpit to work in. Think entitled elderly retirees, and management enforcing crappy ratios coupled with a "customer service" belief on steroids.
