CNA work

Nursing Students CNA/MA

I was wondering, most of these CNAs I would think that would go on to nursing soon after being a CNA but for those that are thinking to work longer. Some CNAs i know will do this for life, some will do this to get into nursing or to get there foot in their foot in the healthcare field. WHAT ABOUT YOU ALL!!!!

Specializes in 10.

I think everyone should do whatever makes them happy. If being a CNA makes you happy then do that, and forget what ever anyone else has to say. I always loved to learn about science, and the human body I knew nursing was for me, but I got a little side tracked along the way, but I am back on track.

I think that every nurse should be a CNA, before they are a nurse, or at least work in direct care this way they can appreciate what an aide does.

Everyone must chose their own path in life. Some chose to do CNA to see if they can handle the job of nursing, and some go right through to RN.

The best nurses are the ones who are hands on, when they can be.

I could not agree with you more! Not because I chose it, But also because it will help oneself assess if they can handle this.

I completely agree with the other comments. I think it really helps to learn and get comfortable with patient interaction.

There is definitely nothing wrong with someone if they want to be a CNA for their entire career. Being a nurse is not for everyone. I have to admire those want to remain a CNA forever. It is not something I could do :( I start NS in August :)

Kate

well being a CNA is realli great, I think if i cant get a job for the mean time I will go back to school for my clinicals and all that

Thx for all your input, makes me even appreciate CNA more

I'm starting CNA classes in August while I anxiously wait for acceptance into nursing school. At the school I've applied, all RN candidates have to become CNA certified anyway so I figured I might as well do it now and start working in the field to make sure nursing is for me. Plus, it will give me nursing experience to include on my resume and possibly a foot in the door for future RN positions. I'm 44 and having been an early childhood educator for 20 years, I'm ready for a change.
