Does anyone know of any hospitals in the youngstown/warren area hire cna/stna's? When I go to the websites there is nothing posted. I'm going to start my training in June, and I want to work in a hospital, but it seems like only LTC hire cna/stnas around here.

When I lived in Ohio and was starting nursing school, I called St. Elizabeths and asked if they hired nursing students. They will let you work at an healthcare associate (fancy name for nurse aide) or unit clerk (fancy name for secretary). I look back now at St. Elizabeths after moving away and working in another hospital system and realize how good of a hospital they really are. Just call the hospital and stay on top of it, if they dont return phone calls, keep calling.
When I call who do I talk to? Thanks so much :) I'm going to try St. Joe's too cause it's a bit closer, but they are affiliates.

Around here... they call them STNA's/CNA's in the nursing homes. In the hospitals...they have all kinds of names.. LOL!! Patient care technicians is a popular term. I personally dont like any of the hospitals around here. I guess that St. E's is better than some other ones but they take FOREVER to get back to you. Most people that I know have waited MONTHS to get a job there. But yet,,, they are short staffed. I dont get it.
Anyways, Good Luck to you!!
Thanks :) I've recently had a bad experience with St. E's, with me being the patient. In the future I think i'm going to look into St. Joe's. But for now I think i'm going to be working at Shepard of the Valley.
