The $13 an hour was my second job as a CNA in a facility, the first one was more like HHA. So no years of experience. The $15/hr was after 6 months of experience at that job when I stayed with the company but moved to a different facility. The $17/hr was after one year of experience in skilled nursing, and hasn't changed cause I'm with a registry.
A registry is like a temp agency for nurses and CNAs. Mine does per diem, but they also gave me three month contracts that gave me 3 12-hr shifts per week guaranteed. Usually the way it works is you give your availability, what shifts you prefer, and then they call you 2 hours or more before the shift start and let you know if you're confirmed. The contract is easier for me because the hospital that i worked at gave me a schedule a month in advance and were pretty flexible as long as I worked at least 2 weekends a month.
I get paid min wage which is $9.50 here in WA. When I asked how much we will be getting paid during my orientation they made it sure that I would not be getting paid over min wage. I work at a LTC facility. It's grueling and even the agency people who mostly work at hospitals say it's to much for a new cna.
