CNa to rn bridge in Dallas tx ? Anyone know off any programs that offer this ?

There are no existing CNA to RN bridge programs anywhere. Many nursing students work as CNA's to gain hands-on experience before entering a program, and some school's even require CNA certification prior to enrollment, but that's it. However, there's no such thing as a CNA to RN bridge. You must take the standard route and start from the beginning.

Even with the few existing "CNA to LPN bridge" programs that appear to exist out there, the time frame to complete them is almost the exact same as starting from the beginning. They give a minscule amount of credit for CNA certification (it usually knocks off maybe the first month of fundamentals), and not much else. You still finish in the same time frame as starting from the beginning. CNA's have very little of the same educational training as an LPN or RN. I, too, am CNA certified, and my program like many, was only a couple months in length and very basic. CNA's do not take Pharmacology, Medsurg, higher level Nursing Fundamentals, Mental Health, IV Therapy, or any of the required classes vital to LPN and RN programs.

The only thing CNA certification will get you when applying to nursing school is a few bonus points with the school's that recognize or require the certification as a part of the application process. My program I am applying to does not even look at the fact that I am CNA certified or any of my CNA related work experience.
