At my hospital, you need a year's experience as a NA to be a PCT. However, as a new NA I can still go through PCT training. The only difference between the two that I know of is that PCTs draw blood and change dressings.

Some hospitals may require that you be a CNA, but will give the additional training to become a PCA. Taking two additional courses, EKG and phlebotomy can take care of that if they want you to come in the door with these skills.

There are alot of jobs at local hospitals here for PCA's, is a CNA qualified for that position? Is it the same thing?
