CNA online training in Ontario, Canada?

Hey everyone,

I want to get CNA certification here in Ontario, Canada, and would love to get it online. I am currently in a BScN program. I have completed my first year and right now on the summer break until september. So thought why not use this free time to get CNA certification and licence so that I can get myself a job in a nearby hospital. Anyway I have tried searching for it but had no luck. Does anyone know an institute where you got yours online? If so, can you please send me a link or the name would be appreciated too.

Oh and is my first year courses will be any help in obtaining CNA? just wondering!

I googled Personal Support Worker in Ontario and got this PSW Programs at Ontario Colleges | ontariocolleges.ca they take 8 months though. The CNA type courses in Canada are not weekend courses.

You can't do it online in Ontario. PSW takes at least 8 months full time. Many places will hire you as a PSW if you have a year of nursing school finished.

I wasn't sure about the online part loriangel, in SK you can take it online you just need to go in for labs during some classes.

Thanks so much for your replies. I came to realize yesterday that CNA is just the term used for PSW in states. so my apologies. however, i agree with loriangel14 that i can work as a psw now since i have completed my 1st year. Once again thanks again for your help :)
