Some people know how to introduce themselves and strike up a conversation -- too
There's a lady that's lived at my facility for the past year. I take care of her at least once weekly. She has dementia, but not to the point that she needs to be placed in a dementia unit. She often forgets that she has met someone, and is a very "outspoken" lady so she will introduce herself to anyone and everyone.
Tonight, she saw me and said this:
My name is XXXXXXXXX. . .
I am 102 years old. . .
Both of my parents are dead. . .
I like white ice cream . .
And sometimes my poop sticks to my bottom.
What's your name?"
Let's just say I was unable to come up with a response to top hers.
