(NC)- I need to only be in the registry...

So I only need to be in the registry to apply for my nursing program. In NC you do not have to have a certificate or anything to take the test you can just test. Do we have any self-taught CNA's or the one day classers in the forum? I would appreciate any in site you may have. I don't really have time to take a 3 day class for 3 months while also doing a full-time class load of pre-reqs. I will learn the more hands on approach during clinical in nursing right? Please give me direction here all is helpful.

I'm in NC and I took a one day course last month. I just had my CNA exam last week and passed, I thought it was quite easy. I'm glad I didn't use the time to go to a 3 month or longer program and spend the extra money.

As long as you study the NC Nurse Aide exam book and practice you will be fine. It is pretty much common sense.

Funy how schools are so different! I'm in NC and my school requires either a full CNA course or you have to have worked as an NA for 40 hours (which is the number of clinical hours we have to do) in the past 2 years. They don't require you to be on the registry and they don't accept those quickie "one day" schools.

Ok that is great to hear. I did talk to my advisor and she said that I just need to be in the registry so that is good. If I may ask what one day class did you take? I'm in the iredell county area.

I went to nc cna training...I'm not sure if they offer classes near you. The contact person's name is ****per site ToS do not post staff/personnel names***.
