Hello All,

I am new to this site, I have been a CNA for 7 yrs. I have a B.S. degree in Bio-Medical Sciences, wanted to go med school until I realized that I wanted to be a Registered Nurse instead. Just got my acceptance letter in the mail, I am so ecstatic but I want to get feed back on what to expect and how I should prepare myself mentally ad physically. It's an accelerated program so I am a little scared so please if you would help a soon to be Nurse out.

Thanks in Advance.

I did not go into NS with CNA experience, but have a fellow classmate and very good friend who is a CNA and has been for several years. She felt at a disadvantage a little bit actually. She said the hardest thing for her was to learn to approach patient care as an RN as opposed to a CNA. Last semester, our instructor wanted us to walk into a pt's room with assessment being at the forefront of our minds, but she was so used to her CNA role that it was difficult for her to not just want to jump right in to ADL's and things like that. She also noticed that our clinical instructor was a lot harder on her and had more expectations of her than our other fellow students, even though learning a nursing role was new to her too.
