Cna challenge lpn boards

Published

ok hear this out! i lived in california and i would hear cnas say they are going to challenge the california lpn boards. im like ''ok lets be serious''! lol. so i took it upon myself to see if this is possible.damn i was shocked its REALLY TRUE!! you have to be a cna for 5 yrs with x-amount of expr.in certain areas. personally i think this is crazy and dangerous. its just some roles as a nurse cnas just dont undertsand or know. TELL ME WHAT YA THINK????

I'm pretty sure this is one of our pot-stirring individuals formerly known as under-the-bridge dwellers, because a) the level of language butchery too high to be incidental, b) situational tunnel-vision and c) poor judgement so appalling but I'll bite anyway . . *

*Nahh changed my mind. Slathered on the clichés just a shade too much. Would love to be proven wrong, though. Hoping BADKAT will return and engage on a respectful level as all of us have much to learn.

How much more can an LVN do than a CNA? This can be learned fairly easily.

Is this a seriouse question? CNA's are allowed to take vitals and assist with ADL's. As an LVN I give meds, assess patients, start IV's, place NG tubes, and foleys, and basically do everything else that an RN can do except for passing IV meds. Please educate yourself before making comments like that, it's a bit insulting.

This is a really old thread that was rebooted on 6/10/11 by BADKAT who joined this site on 6/10/11 and has only posted once. I think BADKAT is bored and lonely and is trying to stir up some excitement.

I know this thread is old, not to mention I normally bypass stupidity and negativity. BUT for heavans sake this really struck a nerve. I am a cna and very proud of what I do. I am very knowledged and depending on where you become a cna it's not just some one day course or 1 month. I was in school for 3 months. When I started working and asking some of the "older" ladies where they went to school.....take a guess!!!! They didn't go to school because it wasn't required then and they were grandfathered into title. It doesn't make me mad, jealous, or any of that foolishness. Now that I done Hospitals...nursing homes...home health..etc under some verryyy lazy nurses I have honestly learned their jobs probably better than them. They will tell you oh I'm going to show you how to do it in case I'm busy the next time....busy= sitting at the desk checking facebook. So every task they teach me and drug they school me on is more of their textbook I just sucked up for my nclex. Now that I've said all that I will added that some nurses educate you simply because they want to and don't expect you to complete their job because your their assistant. I was in nursing school and top of my class for this reason alone probably because the books were completely worthless. CNA's are more than just your assistant we are your back bone and so many nurses have ran through school and never wiped a butt or tear and just stand their puzzeled when the occasion arises and they try and think what the textbook said to do.....that's when your "assistant" saves you or your searching the linen closet for the drawsheets you heard about and completely bypass the sheet you HAVE to fold.....Enough its just my opinion and this thread just reeks of nasty nurses
