CNA Certification at Essex County College??

Published

Hi Everyone!

Am planning on taking a CNA course at Best Care in East Orange but they do their clinicals at South Mountain Reservation. At the moment i dont drive and was wondering if anyone can share their experiences of doing the course without being able to drive. Does anyone know which buses go there? I read that the course takes 6 weeks (Aug 17 to Sept 26), is there a possibility that it might take longer than that? I plan on going for vacation on Sept 30.

I also have plan on joining the nursing program at Essex County College, does anyone know if they give nursing assistant certification? Are there hospitals that offer the class free of charge?

I will appreciate all advices that may be of help to me. :)

Search and see what's in your area. The cost depends on where you go for certification. I paid $89 for a class in Fairfield last year, but I was able to write if off on my taxes. Check around for the costs.

Hi Starchild

Am done with CNA course and preparing for my skills exam tomorrow. Do you know of a place i can go for CPR certification for less than $75? Looking forward to hearing from you.

I teach AHA CPR in Northern NJ -can do the BLS for Health care provider for 70 per head - however i don't have any open classes at the moment. If you can get a few friends, though I can create a class for you - 4 minimum 9 maximum. PM me to discuss further. I am located in Morris County.
