I'm trying to find an image of clubbing of the hands (not clubbing of the fingers) - but haven't been able to find one in my searching - anyone know where to find an image or diagram?
And is there a medical name for clubbing of the hands (I know that clubbing of the feet is talipes equinovarus).

Must be very rare because I did a search and couldn't find it.

Are you referring to contractures?
it's listed in a section about the peripheral vascular system, when
assessing the arms, hands, fingers
as I searched I found on Google, there is "clubbing of the hands" but I haven't been able to find more of a description (yet) - it is listed under Potter's Syndrome
I wondered if is contractures?
Still looking.
Thanks if anyone knows about clubbing of the hand.
(I know about clubbing of the fingers already)

I'm not able to find any pictures for you Amy, but I did find this link when I searched under "clubbed hands"
http://www.leeds.ac.uk/handsurgery/chcvater.htm
it's listed in a section about the peripheral vascular system, whenassessing the arms, hands, fingers
In relation to the vascular system, clubbed fingers is something you may see with cyanotic heart disease and advanced COPD. I've never heard of clubbing of the hands in relation to vascular assesment.
thanks, in the article (of the above link) it does discuss lack of growth of the radial anlage as an explanation of clubbing of the hand

You see clubbing of the hands with certain syndromes, such as Potter's or VACTERL syndrome. It isn't the same as with the COPDs as this is when the radial bone isn't formed and they may be missing their thumb and sometimes the first finger. Sometimes the fingers can be fused also, so then they do have a club hand.
