I have bought as many things over a period of time as I can.
I am to the point where I can start buying nursing clothes and shoes, as I will start classes next month.
What type of clothing are nurses wearing now?
I remember my mom about 20 years ago had nice fitted pants suit like clothing, and some dresses.
Is this still acceptable?
and where would I get this type of professional clothing, any suggestions?
Also what is the best shoe for the longer shifts?
Any websites or info is appreciated.
Thank you

You are right, we used to wear dresses. Not any more, they are not practical or comfortable. Wait until you are out of school unless you have a job before graduation. There are many web sites, and uniform stores. Some hospitals insist on certain colors for RN's etc., or different departments. You could be given scrubs by the hospital. So don't worry about it for now!

For shoes... I wear MBTs. They're similiar to the new Sketcher Shape Ups and they greatly limit the amount of pain I feel in my legs/back r/t to long hours...
Otherwise, many nurses recommend Danskos... I think that's how they're spelled. Very popular.

and http://www.tafford.com are both online scrub/shoe stores. What they sell is pretty standard for both uniforms and shoes.
