:crying2: Do any of you have any thoughts on Clomid, know anything about the success rates? This was my second month on it, & I'm sure that I didn't get preg. again. :crying2: :crying2: :crying2:

I went through fertility treatment with both children...I think with Clomid they recommend up to six months of using that alone without insemination. Of course it all depends on how aggressive you want to be and how much you are willing to spend. The thing with fertility treatment, as the results are so different for everyone depending on the extensiveness of the fertility problem peoples success rates are different. I totally know how frustrating not to mention emotionally trying it can be. I can't tell you how many times people would say "you just need to relax and not worry about it" so easier said then done especially when you are at this point and have to have sex on certain days....sort of lose all of the spontanaity. Hang in there! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!! :)

Thanks so much Ms. Hobbes. I am so sick of everyone telling me......"Quit focusing on it", or "Just relax & it'll happen".

This is just so frustrating, I guess I was hoping that the Clomid would be effective in the first 3 cycles. :o

it's so disappointing. :crying2:

I'm in the same boat with you oceanblue. I also just finished a cycle (my second) and I have the same feeling of dread. I know it has worked for many, so I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed for you!

I had four cycles of Clomid without success. I did ovulate, which more that 80% of Clomid patients do, but the Clomid made my endometrium so thin that it was not favorable for implantation.

I decided to try to fix the root of my problem - which was insulin resistance (which was inhibiting ovulation.) I started eating according to ADA guidelines and taking Glucophage. Within 2 months I was pregnant, and I now have two beautiful children :)

Good luck! I did also hyperstimulate on Clomid, which caused some uncomfortable bloating and cysts, but nothing medically dangerous (thank God!)

Also, if you have not read it, PLEASE read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler, MSN. It is amazing...really! The things they don't teach in nursing school. It will teach you how to spot impending ovulation VERY easily.

I took Clomid for 3 cycles when we first started ttc in the first place-it did not work for me.

"Taking Charge of Your Fertility" is a great book! I've read it too.

What dosage of Clomid are you on now? They may need to increase it. Also have you tried charting your temps and all to see what is going on there? Charting can do wonders for some-helps your doc figure out if there is other stuff going on (like a short luteal phase-if it is too short, the embryo can not implant).

I'm so sorry this is difficult. I hated hearing "Just relax and it will happen"-I wished it worked that way for some of us :o

There are 2 websites too that are very helpful when you are ttc.

Hi oceanblue - I haven't any experience here, so I can't offer any advice, but I wanted to wish you (and the other potential parents on the board) the best of luck :) PS people who offer useless advice about something they know nothing about (like "just relax") really make my blood boil :angryfire - you have my sympathies, being surrounded by morons (and is there any topic that people feel uniquely able to give advice than conception/pregnancy/child-rearing? I don't think so!
