Clinical rotation

Published

I don't start my clinical rotation until next fall but I am already quite nervous about it. Can anyone tell me what their clinical experience was like? I am working on my CNS in Adult Health(Med-Surg). Thanks.

I was scared, nervous, whatever you want to call it, all through my CNS clinicals; not because I didn't have a solid clinical background (I did, a decade worth) or "confidence in myself" -- but because I was preparing for a NEW ROLE and NEW RESPONSIBILITIES which were 'way beyond what my clinical experience had been thus far (there's a reason it's called "advanced practice" ...). I think of it more as having a healthy respect for what the new role entails -- the people who scare me are the ones who get through by telling themselves that it's no big deal, it's not that different from what they've been doing ... IT IS DIFFERENT.

Best wishes with your studies! :balloons: (BTW, I enjoy your other posts on the political threads, and usually agree with you :) )

Oh wow, thanks a lot for the words of encouragement and the compliment! I really feel a lot better. You just cannot know how helpful your words are.
