Who here has experience as a clinical resource nurse? Pros? Cons?

I did it a few years ago (it had a different job title, but the job decription is word for word exact!) I was the catch all the had the responsibilities of CNE + I could get pulled to bedside if needed for staffing, and was also added to the on call mix...I quit within 4 months. Ask specific questions if you interview so that you don't get burned

Absolutely agree- ask questions! I worked with a great staff, manager and CNE and didn't have any issues. I can see how, given the right circumstances, it would become a "catch all" job (and, to a certain extent, at times it was for me. I would take an assignment if we were short multiple nurses, or fill in as charge PRN. This probably happened approx. once per month, and usually I was filling in as charge).
For me, it also ended up being a great position to put on my resume. It was a leadership role, and it really helped me to advance my career.
