As a nursing student at the end of our clinical we are to give a short inservice to our fellow clinical classmates I am having trouble picking a subject. Does any one have any Ideas.

What is your focus this term? What type of unit is this? Does the instructor want you to pick a specific disease, a patient who has had some type of procedure? A particular body system? If you narrow it down a bit, we may be able to give suggestions.

Awesome learning experience. When I was a student I did one on birth control methods. Didn't have a damn thing to do with med/surg, but it was topical, since we were all of an age when we were taking full advantage of the sexual revolution, and well-received. One of my classmates said she never knew she'd been putting in her diaphragm upside down. :)
Pick something you don't know anything about-- there's no point to looking for something you know about because, frankly, at this point you don't know much. :) I used to assign my students to do this. They discovered that within their groups they became the resource on their topics, and then they discovered that all of us know more than some of us, some of us know more than all of us, and that's a useful lesson in itself.
