Clinic Bag?

Published

I've heard a lot of mention of having a "clinic bag" for school (I'm starting in January). Can anyone explain to me exactly what this is? Is it basically just a separate bag with your clinical components in it (stethoscope, pen light and scissors)? Are there any other items that I should be adding to my very short and probably poorly made list?

Any info is great! Thanks!!

Here is what I keep in mine:

  • storage clipboard - got mine from walmart for $10. It's just a clipboard that opens up so you can put papers and things inside, and the clip has a calculator on it which is very helpful when you have to do drug calculations... :)
  • stethoscope
  • ID badge
  • Purell
  • hand cream
  • some cash - I leave my wallet/purse in the car because I don't want that stuff getting stolen!
  • drug book
  • extra black pens
  • alcohol wipes
  • penlight, bandage scissors, hemostat
  • deodorant
  • bottle of water
  • snack, like a granola bar or protein bar or fresh fruit in a plastic bag
  • a little pocket notebook

I usually have the clinical homework sheets, a snack and water bottle, spare change for the vending machine, pen light, scissors, stethoscope, palm pilot, note pad and pen.

i just have a regular tote bag that i generally use only for work and clinical. it has:

-small notebook that can fit in my pocket

-pen light

-stethoscope

-chapstick

-pda

-prep sheets if i need them

-pens/pencils/wallet/cell phone/whatever other stuff i normally carry around anyway
