Cleveland State University Accelerated BSN Spring 2015

U.S.A. Ohio

Published

Hi Everyone!

I started this post to see if anyone else is applying or have been accepted to CSU ABSN program for spring 2015. I have an interview coming up and I'm little nervous. For anyone that got accepted, How was the interview and Essay? I look on their website and I couldn't find anything on Tuition. What is the total for the Entire Program?

Thanks :)

So it Is ok to get a didn't kind of uniform? I wasn't sure if i had to only buy the ones that they told us about

Well I know some girls who kept the top but bought different pants. Several guys bought new pants with side pockets and pullover top. They dont do uniform inspections and so far no one has said anything to me.

Also if you plan on having Affordable Uniforms sew on your patch give yourself time, they take forever (like weeks).

Ok thank you. One more question. When did they inform you of what you would be awarded as far as financial aid. They've had my fafsa for months so I'm just going I will have an idea months ahead of time what is offered or needed.

I think it took a little over a month to tell me what I was awarded for financial aid. Since youve been accepted Im sure you'll hear more about it in a few weeks. You can call the financial aid office if you want to know sooner.

the company and style number they want us to buy is already given on the form for ordering the uniforms, so can't you just buy the exact same uniform from anywhere you want to. the only thing that you need from affordable uniforms are the patches and nametag.

Looking for where to live is very confusing for someone not familiar with cleveland. I've heard to stay away from east cleveland, but what about superior rd? is that safe?

I know parma and lakewood are good areas. lakewood even has a bus that goes straight to CSU i think..

im confused whether to live in an area that has good public transportation since its free for us, or just take my car everyday.

what is parking like at the clinical sites? is it free or do we pay?

sorry for asking so many questions but im just so confused.

Superior Road is a main street in Cleveland that stretches from the city to the inner ring suburbs, so I am sure there are some places along Superior that are fine, but as a general rule, no, you do not want to live anywhere along Superior.

Areas to consider: Ohio City, Gordon Square, Little Italy, Uptown, Coventry (south of Mayfield Rd. only), Cedar-Fairmount (lots of students from CWRU live there), Lakewood. Parma is a fine area, but will be a longer ride. You might also want to consider Cleveland Heights and Shaker Heights (but ask someone who knows Cleveland, because both suburbs have good areas and "not so good" areas). University Heights has lots of half-duplexes for rent that John Carroll University students rent in large numbers.

As far as paying for parking at clinical sites: Most will have free parking for students, but some do not. Also, free parking lots may be a good distance from the hospital and require that you take a shuttle bus or walk quite aways.

East side is fine but we're talkin like 15-20 min east of downtown. The immediate east side areas are not so good. The above post pretty much mentions all of the nice places still close to downtown. Yes, Shaker Heights and Cleveland Heights are both nice areas but again both places have really expensive areas as a lot of doctors live there.

Is anyone looking to possibly live with someone? I am moving from Chicago and am considering the idea of a roommate to make the adjustment easier.

I am!!! I plan on living in the apartments/dorms literally right across the street from the nursing building. They're almost brand new, and you have your own bedroom..but it's 2 to a bathroom...they're called Euclid Commons. Can I email you?

I think someone should make a FB page for our class

Yes I agree and please do. My email is [email protected]
