Cleveland Clinic - RN Resident Position

U.S.A. Ohio

Published

Hello,

I have a question about getting hired as a new RN to the Cleveland Clinic. I applied to a generic RN Resident position for new RNs. I really want to work in the NICU, PICU, or Pediatric ER. Will I be able to request what areas I would be interested to work in? Locations to work at? I guess I'm just not sure how that works because I have no idea if they already have a floor they are screening me for?

Thanks!

Specializes in NICU.

I two bachelors of science degrees - nursing and biology (I did an accelerated BSN program for the nursing). I had no prior hospital experience. I am in a MSN program, but I'm not sure if that helped get the job or not. I did my precepting on a floor at a different hospital which was applicable to the unit I was hired into. The hiring manager said the nursing school I graduated from creates great nurses, and that she thinks highly of the accelerated program. I truly believe that was one of the reasons I was hired so quickly.

I hope this helps!

Yes, it helps a ton! Thank you.
