U.S.A. Ohio

Hi

I have an opportunity for an interview as an new grad at Cleveland Clinic. I need some answers, how is the training and orientation there? I know Cleveland Clinic is #1 in the nation for medical advancement, but how about the support and training of nurses? I know economy is hard right now, this would be a big move for me, so I'm a little anxious. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to PM me also =) TIA.

How long did the temporary ohio license take to come? I am in florida and I am graduating december and will be interviewing for an ICU unit in November 18 2020. Never lived outside of florida and I am nervous. I do not even know if ohio is diverse and fun for ppl in their late 20s.

@Ms.White Could you please update on your experience with the interview and how it went, if you took the job.  There are many New Grads who come on this site and are always curious about the CC process and different people's experiences.

Per another recent post, they did away with the Physical capability test a few months back.  Maybe you can confirm if this was the case w/ you?  Also, what type of math questions do they require for the math test?  Are they basic and straightforward?

Thanks, in advance,  for any additional information you can add about CC

Hi,

I ended up staying in Florida so I did not apply for the Ohio license and at that time I was interviewing in the middle of a pandemic so I was not allowed to tour the unit or do a physical test, and I didn’t need a license to start working either. Those things didn’t apply to start and a lot of the interviewing process was more lenient due to Covid in that state at that time.It may be different now but at the time when I was interviewed they wanted people who had clinicals in the ICU to be hired in the residency.None of the interview questions were clinical they just wanted to get to know you and your experience mainly and to understand what your hospital represents and their values. The managers were nice and straightforward and I got to interview with both the Neuro  and cardiac ICU managers. It tends to be more than one manager from different units.Be you.And goodluck.

Thank you for your update!  Much appreciated.

As I mentioned before, may new grads come on here often enough asking about CC, University Hospitals and Metro so it's always nice to hear people talk about their interview experience, if they went through with it.

Good luck to you at your latest place of work!
