CLEP Natural Sciences & Humanities

Published

Hello my nursing friends! I am working my behind off trying to get my CLEP general ed requirements for EC. So far I've CLEPed intro to sociology, intro to psychology and human G&D. In January, I signed up to do natural sciences and humanties, and quite frankly the material besides the A&P side of natural science is all greek to me. Any tips for these exams? I saw that Interpreting and Analyzing Literature can count as 6 humanties credits too and may be up my alley. Anyone have any tips for these exams? After this just A&P, micro and IL to go! Thanks!

I CLEP'd Humanities with very little prep time. I think it is doable if you are already very familiar with a wide variety of art forms, musical styles, and literature.

My childhood was steeped in those things. My father is a musician and orator and my mother an artist. I also had a natural tendency to explore the arts. I have not mastered any area of the arts with any depth, but I had a good understanding of the basics.

Get your hands on a CLEP prep book and take the practice test for Humanities and see how you do. I think that would be the best way to gauge how well you will test on it.

Way to go on all of your other CLEP exams! It's a great way to earn college credits on the cheap, isn't it?

I took Humanities and I and A Literature, about a week apart, it is alot of readind for both. I like to use the Rea clep books, they also have free practice tests called peterson exams, just Google free peterson exams, and you should find a link. there are librairies in the US which carry them om there web sites for free.

Thank you ladies!

I CLEPd humanities and A&I literature. The problem was that my school considered the humanities credits to overlap with other credits so they only awarded me 2 credits for the test. Find out before you take the test what your school will accept and how many credits they'll award for it.

A&I Lit, I passed with a high score with hardly any preparation. All you need is to read a poem or excerpt of literature and answer some questions about what it means. You may have to decide what something is meant to symbolize, etc. There were also a couple questions about poetry forms, meter etc., so you may want to read up on that (only one or two questions like that so don't go crazy).

Good luck!
