Are there any CLC (College of Lake County) students out there?

You've got part of it right. I did take that A&P class, and I did sit next to Britnee in lecture (between Britnee and Patrick), but Diedra is the one that has the daughter wanting to get into nursing school (she was in class with us too with her daughter). Send me a PM and give me more info on who you are!

Hey Colleen,

This is Kelly...I was trying to find out who posted this about the A&P class....I'm in section 002 this semester and was looking for people that may be in my class....So, how the heck are you? Is your summer flying by as fast as mine? I have a new 7 week old German Shepherd puppy and have been very busy with her.

Hey girl! How are you? A new puppy?!?!? You must be in heaven! What's her name? I'm sure things will go well for you this semester! Hang in there!!!!

Yes, i'm in heaven...she is sooo cute...can't wait til she is potty trained though....I know this semester will go better...there is no other choice...I've told the boys that they are done with the "melt down" phase and this yaer is all about me getting through school without all the drama. i bet you are excited to be so close to finishing. oops..time to take the baby outside...see you soon!!!!

I still need to take General education for CLC and I was wondering how hard they were. CMM 127 or ANT 221 or ANT 228.

I also need a humanity course. Were they more of report writing or doing exam?

Thanks in advance

Hi Everyone,

I took the NLN for the 2nd time and I did better. The first time I got in the 78 percentile, this time I got in the 89 percentile. Also my first composite score was 112, this time I got 127.

Any CLC Students: Do you think my new scores are good enough to get into CLC's program?

keekeedt- congrats on your 89! =) i think everyone does better the 2nd time around.. also, i personally think 89 is a good score. i called the nursing ed office to see what the NLN cut off was for the past semester and they said the first time around the lowest they accepted was 87. then they went around a second time and called ppl from the waiting list all the way down to 70something. but then again, it always depends on the applicant pool and what other applicants score on the NLN.

are you applying for spring 2010? if you are.. maybe we'll be classmates =) good luck with everything!

To my understanding you will have to take the NLN. I have a friend who is a LPN, she contacted CLC to see if they would accept her as a 3rd semester student. They refused - if she wanted to go to CLC she would have to start from scratch. In addition to that, some of her science classes were older so she would have to take some additional science classes. I don't know what she ended up doing, but she didn't go to CLC. I hope this helps...good luck!

When you go to the info session they give you a whole page on LPN/LVN to RN. They call it the Career Mobility System. LPN/LVNs can get their RN in just 1 semester. Hope that helps

I hate being a bubble burster, but I think that may still be low. Although your score is really good, for the spring class of 09 the lowest score on the NLN was like a 93-96 percentile or something. It is so insane! My instructor said this was one of the highest cut offs for entry. Of course things could've changed and would go ahead and try again.

Thanks for all the feedback. No you are not a bubble buster, you are just giving me info. I know it is challenging getting in already. I wish I could apply for the Spring 2010 semester, but I still need the CNA class. I underestimated myself and didn't sign up for a CNA class this fall:cry: So now I have to wait and take it in the Spring which means I've made myself have to wait until the Spring 2011 semester. That is okay cause I still need a few classes (PSY220, SOC121, CMM127, and BIO 125). Micro is full, so I am going to do the SOC and CMM class this fall 2009. I will get there though:wink2:

I am starting the program this fall, actually in one week - YIKES! I got in with an 87. And I know they went as low as 80 percentile. So, don't be discouraged. I know some students that didn't even apply because they were in the 80's, and now they are probably kicking themselves. I think the CNA class discouraged some people from applying, which worked in my favor. So make sure you have your CNA and don't miss the deadline!!

Hey guys! I got my test results today and I'm not sure which composite percentile score is the one I should be looking at. Mine result sheet has composites for DI, AD and ALL? Anyone know?????
