Clayton State University Spring 2016

Published

Greetings Ga Nurses! I am applying for Clayton State's BSN Program Spring 2016 session. It would be great to meet others on this similar journey, and hopefully we can support each other on the way. Looking forward to the challenge of Nursing School!

Really? Did someone over the program tell you that?

Yes, a RN that graduated from Clayton in 2013 told me that. But, that info is incorrect. I emailed my advisor and she stated that an interview does not guarantee acceptance into the program or placement on a waiting list (wait-listed). Sorry for the misunderstanding..:sorry:

hey, can you tell me what book or source you use to study for the kaplan exam. especially the science section.

Yes, I studied the: Kaplan Nursing School Entrance Exams ISBN#978-1-61865-602-5, 6th edition. I ordered it from Amazon. Hey, check out this link from Quizlet: https://quizlet.com/24982774/kaplan-nursing-entrance-exam-flash-cards/. I studied the info from this website as well. As far as the life science section, I recall some questions regarding homeostasis (positive and negative feedback), functions of the nervous system, function of the various regions of the brain, the endocrine system and components of the blood. Of course there were more questions in this section, I just don't remember them.

My advisor just sent me an email this morning saying that denial letters were sent out to students that did not meet eligibility requirements and that acceptance letters should be received next week or 1st week of November.

Do you know what day they mailed the rejection letters?

Now that's what I'm trying to figure out. I wanna say that the rejection letters were sent out that first week of October as someone mentioned earlier. I'm thinking, why would they interview anyone that did not meet the requirements only to send them a denial letter. Unfortunately, my advisor did not clarify when the denial letters were sent out. I've read several old postings about CSU nursing program and they all pretty much say the same. That rejection letters go out first, then emails and call for interviews happens next, and a week or two after interviews, acceptance letters go out. And I've also read several postings about being wait-listed, although my advisor says that's info is incorrect. Idk, I'm just ready to hear something. Oh, I also called the person that interviewed me, she says I should get something this week. Have you heard anything? I want to call them (nursing dept.) again for clarification, but I'm hesitant, I don't want to be annoying.

Yikes! Just ready to get some positive feedback. Hopefully we all get in. I haven't heard of anyone getting rejected after an interview. But then again it's not impossible for them to do so. Just we all have to play the waiting game.

I completely understand, I feel like I've been interrogating them the last few weeks. What is confusing for me, is the timing of rejection letters. Will they send out more rejection letters for those who have interviewed? Wishing everyone all the luck!!

My thoughts exactly. I'm pretty sure that everyone here will get into the program. As far as myself, I wouldn't be surprised if I was placed on that waiting list. Although my GPA is great I didn't do as well as most of you guys did on that Kaplan test. Time will tell, I just need to occupy my mind until then. I will definitely post if I learn anything new, get letter etc...

Nothing in the mail today!

Same here, nothing!
