Clayton State University Fall 2012

U.S.A. Georgia

Hello Everyone,

I was following the acceptance forum for Clayton State Fall 2011. It was very interested and informational so I thought I would start one of my own. I just transfered to Clayton. My first semester will be Summer 11. If everything goes will I will apply for Fall 2012 nursing program. I have A&P I, A&P II, Micro, Stats, Psyc, and Patho to complete before applying. Just wondering if anyone is familiar with summer instructors. I plan to take A&P I and another course for the summer.

Okay... I think i'm set now. I spoke with an advisor and she said that I would not be able to apply for Spring 2012. I will need to have Patho completed or currently enrolled before I can apply. So for Sum 11 I plan to take A&P I and Psyc... then Fall 11 I will take A&P II, Micro, and Stats... which will only leave patho to take in the spring 12.. She said that I can take my 2 free electives with it to give me a full load ex. int com... so I'm okay with that as long as i'm not sitting idle.... I'm so excited!!!!!

Hgnelson: it was a pleasure to meet you today and good luck on your TEAS. Study study study. You will do great...By the way the practice one on line is very similar to the real TEAS.

Hey there

I'm planning to apply to spring 2012 but im very unconfident due to my gpa and teas score

my overall is 3.16 (should be 3.2 if all goes well with my summer classes)

teas 70(i know terrible)

I cant recall my math/science average but i can guess it to be around 3.1 or something

Hello! I am in the same boat I have a 3.1 if all goes well, I am really worried about my GPA, but I am confident that my Teas score will be excellent. Does clayton state worry more about the teas score or Gpa. Thanks

Hey everyone!

I am also applying for the spring 2012 semester. I'm scared too! My overall gap is a 3.48 and math and science is a 3.3 but I got a 78 on the TEAS and am really worried about that score!! I might take it again before the application is due but I'm not sure. Does anyone know what a competitive teas score is for this program?

Steph:

Yes go ahead and apply. In the TEAS as long as you pass the averages of all the subject to their standards you can apply. 78 is fine. I think they also look at GPA of 3.2 and above. Good Luck. Have you talked to an advisor?

Lisamac thanks for the reply! Yeah I spoke with one lady before and at orientation and she told me that the spring is much less competitive than the fall and that my gpas are good but that I would need to do good on the teas(this was before I took the teas). Then after I took the teas I emailed christy hicks and she said with my gpas the way they are that a 78 teas will still keep me in the competitive range. So I'm def going to apply but I'm scared! Lol do you know when they start calling for interviews If the app is due sept 15?

hey guys. i plan to apply for the fall 2012 program. i am taking my teas in beginning of sept to get a feel for test and bc i am applying to kennesaw & gsu as well. i really only want to get into csu. but i'll go where ever im accepted. im so anxious. i believe 88 on teas is national avg. i spoke to ms. hicks and she basically said that they do a calculation on each person. your teas is worth up to 100pts, your overall gpa another 100 pts and ur math/science gpa another 100pts for a total of 300pts. then applicants with the most points out of 300 total points are asked to interview. and then interview determines if u get in. my overall gpa is 3.45, math/science is 4.0. but i still have a&pII (im taking this fall) plus micro & patho that im taking in spring. i hope i can keep the 4.0., do good on teas and get into prgram...

I spoke with an advisor on yesterday. She told me that the prerequisites to get in the program if you are a transfer student is:

Chemistry I

A&P I & II

Micro

Stats

Psyc (intro to human development)

Patho

This is what I was told as well. I took the Biology sequence years ago, so now I just have to take the first Chemisty.

I am also planning to apply for Fall 2012. Good luck! Our scores sound a lot alike. I also have the same classes left.

I was wrong about national avgs for teas. my friend just took it and the report says the national avg is 64.3% and CSU program avg is 70.6%. I was going by what someone said on a GSU blog. The 88% is what most applicants have for the GSU nursing program. SO, it's looking even better!:yeah:
