Clayton State Fall 2011

Published

Just thought I would get a forum started as we await the decision. Everyone feel free to post your overall GPA, math and Science GPA, and TEAS scores. Also why you want to be a nurse and what specialty you would like to work in?

Overall GPA 3.38

M&S GPA 3.4

TEAS 80.7

I originally wanted to be an OB/GYN, but then I got pregnant and decided I would just become an account (math is my favorite subject). After my stay in the hospital (labor/delivery & postpartum) I decided I can still be in the hospital setting if I become a nurse. I want to be an OB/GYN nurse.:heartbeat I eventually want to become a certified nurse midwife. :D

Please weigh in Clayton State Applicants!

I hope I sent the information to the right person. Let me know if you get it.

Got my uniforms today. Not too bad. The drawstring pants are a little high on the waist and a little big but I guess it will do.

Has anyone been able to log inot the insurance plan website to set up a waiver or buy insurance?

An2on where are you doing CPR at?

Hello Miss Lewis.

I would love to get together and study once we get in the program. I really thought I was the only person from Conyers going to Clayton. It is nice to know I'm not alone way out here! Keep in touch.

I took the cpr course earlier this semester at Clayton state. I will receive my card at the end of this month!

Hey NayTea!! IKR! I want to move closer to the school, but all my family and in-laws...which are my babysitters are here. So moving closer would be pointless if I have to bring the kids back to Conyers every morning!

I feel you Lisamac! I want to go ahead and finish my packet before July 1st (my birthday!!) So I can have a stress free day. I need to get this CPR out the way! Hopefully one us can get together and get it done!!

Conyers is not to far, I know you can do clinicals at a nursing home in Rockdale and also Rockdale hospital which will be great for you!But I also think you do different hospitals each semester.

Here is the CPR place I am going to:

When does their CPR cert. expire?

I guess it would be on April 30, 2013, she did not have the May calendar open yet but she was going to call me when she did, otherwise I will take that date, it would be okay, sometimes people have to get their update during the program, but what is one day. I might call at the end of next week just incase I dont hear from her and see what the May dates are. I will keep you updated.

I have a question about the insurance. Since I can't pay $400 for the insurance do you all think that paying a premium every month for health insurance with blue cross blue shield of Georgia or Humana is the same as the insurance that is need for the program? Thanks!

I would think if you had health insurance it will be alright, but dont you think gettin your own policy will be expensive. It looks as if the student insurance is cheap. did you call the insurance company?

I have my husbands Blue cross insurance so I am doing a waiver once it opens up. So I would think BCBS will be fine.
