Not sure were to post question in class, what do you use to record classes & lectures, so you can bring it home burn it to cd then listen while you drive.
Thanks Jerry :)

I'm graduating, well . . . today all my assignments will be done (HURRAH!). And I've never recorded a single lecture while maintaining a 3.9 GPA. I don't know if that's going to be necessary for you (i.e., that's the way you've found that you learn best), or if you're thinking that you will "need" to do it because everyone else does . . . if it's the latter, don't worry about spending $ to record lectures, because I didn't see a soul in my program recording lectures, either-- and we're all graduating. I found that I spent more time learning via experience and spending hours researching in my texts. And, personally, I've found that the only time I have where I'm not occupied by school was in my car-- driving was one of the few breaks I had. Were I you, I'd hate to give up any break you have from classes, because you will NEED those little breaks.
That said, if you really want to do it, I know that if you have an IPod, you can buy an adapter that turns it into a recorder. If you did that, then you could probably upload what you've recorded into your computer and then burn it to a CD. I don't know if there's a cheaper option out there (your total investment in the IPod and adapter, if you don't have them already, would be $400), but that's one method.

If you are using a PDA with a recording function that should work as well. Check out the PDAs and Nursing forum, do a search and see if it has been discussed.

We are not allowed to record lecture at the nursing school I attend. If I were you I would check to make sure you are OK to record before doing it. We have small classes in a small community and we some times discuss clinical experiences (no names of course), but since its a small community if the person who recorded the lecture were to go listen to it in a public place and someone were to hear us discussing a clinical experience there would be a problem. Even without names!

My advice is that unless you spend lots of time driving, or have the time to sit and listen to hours of recording, don't do it.
I tried it and didn't work. I found powerpoints, and rewriting my notes/flashcards to be more useful.
Good luck

I'm not sure how to do it either, but I'll bet that if you approach people over at the computer lab at your college, they will be able to tell you. I'm talking about the computer science lab where the real geeks are, not a computer lab in the health science building. I have a health information management instructor that could probably show you how to do what you want because I've seen her burn CDs of files off our lab computers for students, she's such a wiz with computers, but I think she's more the exception around the health sciences building than the norm.
