Hi everyone! My anticipated graduation date is in spring of 2016.... A long way away, but I thought maybe we could share a thread? In a student at DeSales University in Center Valley, PA. What's everyone doing with their summer? I'm filling mine with courses and job hunting:(
@qkh:) I'm a stay at home mom right now and I'm looking for a job to work around that. I also need a more substantial income than an on campus job... I'm looking into Main Line Health, they have excellent externship and new grad programs. What does everyone have left to take as far as prereqs?
Oh ok, that's understandable. I will also be taking the HESI on July 26 if all goes as planned. As far as pre-reqs left, I have a ton. The only sciences I've completed so far is chemistry I & II, & working on biology now. Have to complete CHFD, A&P I/Lab, Econ, & History in the fall. Next spring is about the same amount of classes then I'll be done.
Class of 2016 here (Lord willing). I will be completing ap 1 & 2 and microbiology this summer. I will be applying in November for the fall 2014 semester. I'm so excited! :)Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com
Oh my goodness! You are super motivated;) 3 sciences in one summer... I still have a&p to take, but I've decided to take it in the fall.

I'm doing biology now and starting a&p in the fall. I just finished up statistics and I took it online. It was very hard.... But I managed an A and now I'm finished with my maths. I have to take some electives and an additional English class. There are a couple of courses that I'm considering taking the clep for. What is CHFD?

The only math my school required was college algebra (thank God), - I'm terrible at math. I'm finishing my last English now also. Child & Family Development.

It's because I'm currently off of work until October and I want to finish before returning to work. Plus I am so ready to be in nursing school!

I have a question out of curiosity. I clicked on this thread because I will be graduating June 2016 from my BSN program (It seems so far away!) but from reading the comments I am confused. Is everyone still working on prereqs or on really long waitlists, I am from Oregon and I have learned that our state does things differently than most others, like programs start once a year and the waitlist is only good for that year then they have to reapply, and programs have 500-1500 applicants for 30-80 positions each year so many students have to apply for several years (you get extra points the second year you apply), they also don't use HESI or TEAS exams. This is purely out of curiosity about how other programs work!
Thanks meeep for the reply! We pretty much have been doing this since day one. We research everything online because he told us to send our textbook back since he would not be using it for class. When we take the exam and use what we researched to answer questions, he fails us and he tells us it is all wrong because when he went to medical school in his country and that was not what they taught.... It is so frustrating! I am in my last week of finals and have been studying for two test for ten days now hoping to pass it!!!
